On Saturday, October 12, 2013 Giano musical director, Gerard Gonzales, and the marching band took first place at the Walnut Family Festival. The gladiators marched down La Puente Road from Lemon Avenue to Pierre Street belting out the musical tune of “On Broadway” for all of the spectators to hear. Also performing with the band was the newly formed Giano Gems dance and drill team. These ladies are currently under the supervision of Vanessa Avila and the dance instruction of Caitlyn Padilla. Both the band and dance team looked and sounded amazing!
So what’s next after a first place win? Well, they are currently preparing for the Buckboard Days Parade on Saturday, October 19 and are hoping to add another trophy to their collection!
